Day 6

Yesterday.
When I got up,I switched on the coffee and then nipped outside to try and capture some frosty plants...


The second appearance of my spirea,so glad I didn't hack it back this year !
After breakfast we went for a little drive.
The countryside in Quebec and then into Ontario is nearly all farms,scattered here and there.
We drove by this one and I just had to take a picture of all the geese....


It doesn't show up as well here but there were lots,all along the water.
It would have been better with the wide angle but I wanted the zoom more.....swings and roundabouts as they say :)

June 9th

So my challenge for today's photo was:

"Routine"

I had a few ideas,my scruffy trainers kicked off by the door,since they have become something I put on almost daily.Then there was the boys coming back from the mailbox since this is their daily routine after they get off the bus.Then while I was sitting here on the computer I spied the regular visitor to my deck........


Yep,here's chippie gathering his daily seeds.That's his routine,collecting the seeds or eating my petals,every single day ! His paws/hands are blurry because you should see the speed he whips off the tails of those things.

I had to sneak him into one of the challenges :)

April 3rd,4th and 5th

I'm playing catch up !

It wasn't raining yesterday,April 5th but it was cold and the only time I went outside was to find something to photograph.Decided on this,raindrops on one of the fir trees.

The raindrops were sparkling but I don't think it shows up here too well.

Saturday's shot,April 4th,well I had lots of chippie but decided it couldn't be the chippie show,so went with this one......

Another raindrop photo,just love them,sorry ! These are the bushes(Spiraea) outside the front of my house,taken early in the morning. I don't think you'll see it here,since I reduced the image but when I uploaded this I realised I'd also caught a spiderwebs glistening with rain too. Ok,if you click on it you can just see it !

Finally,Friday April the 3rd......I took a few photo's that day but it was rainy and dark and I wasn't happy with any of them so the best of a bad bunch was this slightly blurry Chippie,with protruding cheek.........

It's dark and dreary again today,who knows what I'll find to take...........where's chippie :)

Favourite #8

On to August favourites.
Surprise surprise it's a flower picture !

This one.......

Well more of a weed than a flower ! I'm sure it's my favourite for the memory of the photo more than the image it's self,if than makes any sense.I took it on an early morning walk,everything was still covered in dew and it was so peaceful.
Of course there were other contenders this month too,mostly from the labour day weekend we spent with our friends at their cottage.

The baby snapping turtle we saw on our walk.Stuart picked him up and moved him out of harms way.Isn't he cute :)

I love this one too.Again it's more to do with the memory,the feel of it and the early evening light.

The end of a fun day of walks,tubing,swimming and then Ol and our friends son went down to the dock to fish.Just love it.

Back after the weekend with number 9......

Dragonflies

As I mentioned below,these dragonflies were also June photo's but I thought I'd give the lovelies a post of their own.I couldn't have picked out one anyway.I love them all.
These are joint efforts between myself and the hubby.Such easy subjects to photograph too, with a little patience and a zoom lens !

Favourite #5

So #5 means May 2008.

I love May and I took many,many photo's during the month.
Many of my favourite subject,flowers.
So it was hard to pick just one but I did and this is it........

This was a close second though.......

Favourite #1 !

Well in order to try and keep this blog alive until April I thought I'd post a few of my favourite photo's from last year.They're just personal favourites for one reason or another,not masterpieces in photography by any way !

So I'll go month by month and last January just like this one I took barely any photo's. I did manage to capture this one....



Love the way she's so alert,she promtly took off after this shot,I miss seeing the deer in the garden.I haven't seen them at all this year although there is evidence that they've been around and on Christmas day we briefly saw them running across our neighbours yard.But,sadly no photo ops for me so far this year.

Omega Park

Just thought I'd put my favourite pictures from our visit to Omega Park here.

Going in Winter is fun,the summer is so busy that yes you see things but the animals are hungrier in winter so they know cars mean food.......

The wild boar are funny....and smelly !

You aren't supposed to get out the car and strictly I didn't,I opened the door and stood on the door sill without my feet touching the ground !! There were no other cars around so I wasn't holding anyone up.I just wanted to get a shot without the fence in view and anyway we brought them hot dogs which they much preferred to carrots !

I've posted that one as my photo a day for December 26th but I'm showing it again as it's my blog and I can do what I like and it's my favourite of the day!

24th to the 29th December

Big post with catch up photo's ! I missed one day,Sunday the 28th,I could have cheated but I haven't !

So starting with the 24th December....

Christmas Eve morning above and we had snow during the night so it all looked lovely and Christmasy outside,I decided on this one as further proof that I neglected my garden this fall......poor sweet peas ! Below is the 25th,Christmas day and I wasn't feeling 100% and I always like to just enjoy the day so I probably took 10 photo's all day all of them early in the morning !

Above is the 26th,Boxing day.We woke up and decided we'd go for breakfast and then off to Omega park since it's been a few years since we went in the winter.It was great,hardly anyone there and this is one of my favourite of all 350 odd pictures I took !!Below is the 27th December,and I hadn't taken any photo's all day so it resulted in my chopped up mushrooms.

As I said no photo for the 28th but I had a great day so that's all that matters so below is yesterday's,29th December.Again not a particularly inspiring day and it was dark but I like this one even though it's not totally in focus.
